Jacqueline "Jackie" Adams Dolin May 31, 1945- October 24, 2024
Jackie died peacefully, holding her daughter Miriam's hand on October 24, 2024. Jackie was born on May 31, 1945, in Frederick, Maryland. She and her family moved several times before settling in Chattanooga, TN, when she was eight years old. Jackie graduated from Girls Preparatory School (GPS) before leaving home to attend Vanderbilt University, where she earned her bachelor's degree. After graduating, she moved to Columbus, OH, where she began her career with Bell Labs and earned a Master's in Computer Science from the Ohio State University. Shortly after arriving in Columbus, she met her husband, Richard (Dick) Dolin. Several years later, she and Dick moved to Louisville, where Jackie began a 20-year career with Brown and Williamson. She lived her last 5 years in Fort Collins, CO where she was near Miriam and Corey.
Jackie was an active member in her churches -- Harvey Browne in Louisville and then First Presbyterian in Fort Collins. Always very generous in her community, Jackie spent her retirement volunteering for several organizations, most notably the Peace Education Program in Louisville. Beyond that, she found joy in retirement reading, quilting, traveling, chatting with friends, eating out, and drinking tea with "lots of ice."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Dolin; parents, John Winston and Emily Harvey Adams; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Doris Dolin; sisters, Lucy Cundiff and Frances Hysinger; brothers-in-law, Louis Cundiff and Wayne "Kibler" Hysinger.
Jackie is survived by her two daughters, Amanda Dolin and Miriam Nelson (Corey); her two grandchildren, Jacob and Emily; brother-in-law, Robert Dolin; two sisters-in-law, Patti Spinner and Wendy Dolin; and nieces and nephews, Lara, Jeremy, Brett, Michelle, Erik, Stephanie, and Hillary.
