Jakoby "Jake" Hogg

d. Oct 16, 2023

Jakoby "Jake" McCallum Hogg, 25, of Windsor, CO, passed away after a brave hospital battle at MCR in Loveland, CO on October 16, 2023.

Jake was born in Thornton, CO on September 30, 1998. His family moved to Windsor, CO in 1999, where Jake graduated from Windsor High School in 2017. Jake is survived by his parents Susan Deman and Rob Hogg, sister Jada, grandparents Rona and Mike Hall and Loretta Hogg, aunts Corinne Hogg and Julie Moore, uncle Joe Moore, cousins Jacquie and Joseph Moore, and other extended family and friends, who will ALL miss him tremendously.

Jake's battles in life began early, as he stopped breathing in his father's arms at the age of 19 days. After several surgeries, and a diagnosis of a seizure disorder, among other things, we received a prognosis from one of his early doctors that he would never be a functioning person, that he would be a "vegetable" (his doctor's word, as I recall).

We fired that doctor. We found people who could help Jake fight, and through this network of doctors, therapists, teachers and caregivers, Jake blossomed into a caring, funny, engaging kid. Windsor schools provided phenomenal support all through his school career, and he graduated from Windsor High, then continued on in their special needs extension program.

Jake defied his early diagnosis, going on to learn to read, walk, ride a horse, ski, ride a bike, and so many other things that we probably don't even know about. He loved books, mostly, but also music and Pixar movies. He really loved cars and trucks, and his favorite thing to do was to sit in a car or truck with his books.

Jake's legacy will be the hearts and souls that he touched – and there were many. His sweetness, his strength, his sly sense of humor will all be missed by his family, as well as the wonderful people that were in his circle.

We will miss you tremendously, Jake.

There will be a Celebration of Jake's Life at High Hops Brewery in Windsor, CO on 10/29/23, from 1:00-2:00 p.m., followed by an open house at the brewery until 4:00. A webcast of the service will be broadcast on www.ckpmediaservices.com
