James Clifford Ascough II

James C. Ascough II (Jim), beloved husband, father, and friend passed away suddenly on December 1, 2016. He was born on November 21, 1960, in Morgantown, WV. He also lived in Georgia before moving to West Lafayette, IN. He graduated from Purdue University with Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees in Agricultural Engineering. After a brief time at Oklahoma State, he returned to Purdue and met his wife, Lois Deer-Ascough, who survives. Jim and Lois were married at First Presbyterian Church in Franklin, IN, on June 3, 1989. They moved to Fort Collins in 1994 when Jim accepted a position with the USDA-ARS as a research scientist. He was currently a Hydraulic Engineer with the USDA-ARS Water Management and Systems Research Unit.
Jim was a sports fan who loved playing and watching all sports, with his favorites being those his kids played. He enjoyed riding his bike everywhere, hiking, fishing, and being outdoors. He especially enjoyed sharing God's creation with his children, son, Thomas James (TJ) and daughter, Katherine (Katie Ann). Jim is also survived by his parents, Sue Ann Ascough of West Lafayette and James C. Ascough, also of West Lafayette and his brother, Tim H. Ascough (Ybee) and nephew Ymar of San Diego.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 8th at Faith Evangelical Free Church in Fort Collins. Visitation will be held from 9:00 until time of service. Burial to follow, 1:00 PM at Grandview Cemetery, Fort Collins.
