James Anthony DePetris, 42, was called home on April 3, 2025, from his home of Fort Collins, Colorado. Born on October 21, 1982, in Jacksonville, FL, James left a lasting impression on everyone who was lucky enough to cross his path.
James was a partner in crime, a friend, a self proclaimed comic nerd (he especially loved the merc with a mouth), and all around know it all. His passion for listening to and creating music started at a young age, and as he got older you could find him somewhere in a club, at the DJ tables, bringing joy to everyone. If he wasn't on the tables, he was diving into the latest technology. Another passion of his, he had to have the newest tech - whether it be gaming consoles, his computer, or whatever the newest tech was. If you knew James, you know.
When he wasn't gaming, he loved to go fast, on a motorcycle or in his car. Free time often found him with his hands in someone's engine, always the go-to for anyone with car issues.
He moved from Florida to Colorado in 2015, to make a fresh start. It was there that he got what he had always wanted, a family. James met the love of his life not long after moving to Colorado, and that was all she wrote. After years of pestering her, they were finally married on December 5, 2019. He spent his last years mentoring his son, Hunter, not his by blood, but his son by love. He was a devoted husband, father, family member, and friend.
James leaves behind so many loved ones, including: his superwoman, Tiffany and his son, Hunter of Fort Collins, his parents, Melissa and Robby Boggs of Jacksonville, brothers - Chuckie Metz (not by blood but again by love) of Loveland, CO and Tyler Boggs of Jacksonville, aunts, uncles, grandparents, nieces, nephews, cousins and more friends that were family than could ever be listed. He is joining a few people, including his children, Jacob and Hope Depetris, his brother Jacob Depetris, and his granddaddy, Thomas Williams.
His Celebration of Life in Colorado will be at Lory State Park, at the Timber group picnic area, on June 1st, 2025 - the time is still pending. We will be having an additional Celebration of Life in Jacksonville, FL - the date and time are still pending.
Celebrate his memory by loving one another, and reaching out that helping hand to someone in need.
