James E. Quaratino

Timnath resident, James Edwin Quaratino, 78, passed away October 2, 2024 in Fort Collins, CO. He was born November 14, 1945 in Denver, CO, the son of Clyde and Marcella Ann (Bensing) Quaratino. Jim grew up in Denver, attended George Washington High School and received his bachelor's degree from Colorado State University. Jim served our country in the United States Air Force in 1969 and was honorably discharged in March 1973 as a staff sergeant. Jim met Linda in 1978, and the two were married on August 5, 1980 in Lake Tahoe, NV. He was employed by Union Pacific Railroad until 1988 when he began working for the USDA-Agricultural Research Service as a contract specialist until his retirement in 2012. Jim was a life-long avid reader, enjoying mysteries, thrillers and western novels. He was also a great lover of dogs and classic cars, particularly mustangs.

He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Lisa (Jon), granddaughters Quinn and Shay, sister Pat McDowd, nieces Kerriann (Van) Weaver, Tara McDowd, and nephew Glenn (Sue) Rollins, as well as many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM (arrival at 10:30 AM) Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO. A Celebration of Life will follow for family at Maggiano's Little Italy Restaurant, 7401 S. Clinton St., Englewood, CO.
