James Wallace Wircenske

Jim Wircenske, loving husband, father, and grandfather lost his battle with brain cancer on October 24, 2014 at his home in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Jim was born on December 17, 1936 in Elyria, Ohio to the late Helen and Frank Wircenske. He graduated from Elyria Catholic High School in 1954 and attended Bowling Green State University before joining the U.S. Army in 1956.

Jim met Carol while they were working at Bendix Westinghouse and were married August 24, 1963 at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Elyria. They lived in Ohio until 1965 when Jim was transferred to Huntington Beach, California. In 1971 Jim accepted a position with the Budd Company and relocated to Tempe, Arizona. As an ambitious entrepreneur Jim wanted to start his own mining equipment business. In 1977, Jim moved his family to Cheyenne, Wyoming and started Off-Highway Rims and Wyoming Hot Freight. In his spare time Jim was a volunteer fireman for the Laramie County District 2 Fire Department.

Jim retired in September of 1987 and relocated to Fort Collins, Colorado in September of 1993. He enjoyed playing golf, making custom golf clubs, and spending time with his family. Jim was an avid Denver Bronco fan and loved tinkering in his yard.

Jim is survived by his wife Carol of 51 years and their three children: Debra (Carl) of San Tan Valley, AZ; Scott (Kim) of Olathe, KS; and Denise (Greg) of Bellingham, WA. He was the proud grandfather of Andrew, Brian, Sarah, Chelsey, and Megan. He is also survived by his brother Jerry (Mickey) Wircenske of Highland Village, TX.

A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 300 W. Mountain Avenue, Fort Collins, CO.
