Jane Margaret Feild Bontempo passed away peacefully at home on October 17, 2014, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Jane was born on January 28, 1942, in Marshall, Texas, to Clayton and Margaret Feild. After graduating from Marshall High School in 1960, Jane attended Texas Tech University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in merchandizing and teaching. After receiving her degree, she moved to Denver, Colorado to work as a buyer for the Denver Dry Company.
Jane was a loving mother and supportive spouse, raising her family in Colorado, New Jersey and Texas. She moved to Fort Collins in 1973, and after a brief stint in Texas, returned to Fort Collins, her favorite town, in 1984. She was a local artist, past president of the Poudre Valley Art League, and past president of the local Kappa Alpha Theta Alumni Association.
Jane loved spending time with her family and cheering on the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoons. She was an accomplished artist, teaching local painting classes. She worked in oils, watercolor, acrylics, pen and ink. Her paintings of the bayous of East Texas, various Colorado landscapes, flowers and the old Fort Collins High School, as well as her pen and ink prints and notecards, have been sold at art shows and displayed at local businesses.
Jane is survived by her son Wade Bontempo (Fort Collins), her daughter Kimberly Bontempo Bogin (Evergreen, CO), her son Jason Bontempo (Loveland, CO), her daughter-in-law Kimberli Bontempo, her son-in-law Robert Bogin, her grandchildren Shayne Bontempo, Lauren Bontempo, Braden Bontempo, McCartney Bogin and Rush Bogin, her ex-husband Larry Bontempo (Fort Collins), and her brothers Clayton Feild (Houston, Texas) and Reeves Feild (Shreveport, Louisiana). She was preceded in death by her mother Margaret Feild and her father Clayton Feild.
Jane's funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 24, 2014 the Saint John the XXIII Catholic Church in Fort Collins. A reception at the church will follow the mass.
