Janice E. Byers

Janice Elaine (Smith) Byers passed away on March 15, 2025, in Fort Collins, CO after a lengthy illness. She was born January 18, 1945, in Bayard, NE to Earl and Ruby Smith. She is survived by her two children, son Robert Byers, daughter Dena Lee (Scott Lee) and two grandchildren, Jenna (Lee) Trott (JP Trott), and Jacob Lee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Marge Gowin, and Jean Parkhill, brothers Dale, Tom, Jim and Blake. Also survived by her Sister, Patricia Chitwood, and Brother, Ronald Smith (Joannie), and Sister in-laws Donna, Betty Myrna many very special nephews and nieces.

Jan spent most of her adult life in Northern Colorado and attended Timberline Church in Fort Collins. She enjoyed everything with her children from camping to skiing to a small sailboat on a lake and so much more. She enjoyed hobbies of sewing, reading, gardening and anything with her family. Jan had many friends from all over the world, Sweden, Spain, to everywhere in the United States. She kept up well with communication on-line and had a big heart. Her cat and flowers held a special place in her heart and she was always willing to share recipes, bake a special themed birthday cake, and let you know how special you were to her.

Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be lovingly shared with nature.

A celebration of life is to be held at Timberline Church in Fort Collins on June 4th, 2025 at 11:30 a.m.
