Jared Frank Interholzinger of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away peacefully on 2nd of July 2026 at the age of 85. He was born on the 25th of October 1940 to Frank & Ruby Interholzinger in North Platte, Nebraska.
After graduating from NPHS and the University of Colorado, Boulder with a B.S. and Naval Postgraduate school with a M.S; he spent 20 years in the Navy, first as enlisted and then went into the officer program and retired as Lt. Commander. He married Janet Peterson in December 1967, and together they had two beautiful children and shared 58 wonderful years together.
Jared was an avid historian, and enjoyed visiting historical sights such as battlefields, researching genealogy, ancestry and date nail collecting. He also enjoyed activities such as fishing, reading, gardening, and of course watching NE Cornhusker football, basketball and women’s volleyball, and attending afternoon teas. He was known fondly for his compassion for others and willingness to help when needed. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his family.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Interholzinger, siblings Karlyn Cady, Dean (Karolyn) and Joan Wilkinson, children Michael (Lea) Interholzinger & Kathryn (Charles) Morganti, grandchildren Ryan (Abby) Morganti and Emma (Alex) Interholzinger, and Great-Grandson Theodore Morganti. As well as sisters-in-law Kathy Bricher, Sandra Ostendorf and Linda Peterson, plus nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Ruby.
May he rest in peace, knowing how deeply he was loved.
