Jeanne Hawthorne Sanders, born February 17, 1918. After a long and eventful life, she passed away on July 3, 2015. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Ben Sanders who died in 2009. Jeanne's father, Milton W. Hawthorne and mother, Verne Lifsey Hawthorne; two brothers, Elbert and Lawrence and sister, Jacquelyn Hawthorne-Landrum, all of Richmond, Virginia also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her brother, Cal (Nancy) Hawthorne; grandson, Forrest (Jenna) Sanders; great-grandchildren, Haylee and Piper Sanders; granddaughter Amber Mae (Michael) Heath; great-grandchildren, Cooper and Nina Heath. Forrest was reared by Jeanne and Ben for over 20 years. Jeanne is also survived by 28 nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. All loved deeply by Ben and Jeanne. Many friends were also dearly loved.
Jeanne was employed for many years by Central Bank & Trust in Denver. She also sold mobile homes in addition to secretarial work for several years.
With kudos to Will Rogers, Jeanne never met a person she didn't like. She loved every person mentioned and anyone not mentioned. Jeanne often said that she was so fortunate to have had Ben in her life.
Private Graveside Service will be held at 11:30, Tuesday, July 7th at Ft. Logan National Cemetery; Staging Area "B." Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 p.m., Friday, July 10th at St. John's Lutheran Church, 305 East Elizabeth, Fort Collins, Colorado.
