Jerry F. Kalavity, entrepreneur, innovator, life time learner and optimist passed away April 26, 2014. He was 90 years old. Jerry moved from Ohio to Denver, Colorado, where he married and raised a family.
Jerry is survived by his four children, Karen Kalavity, Nicholas Kalavity, Patricia Kalavity Babbitt and Steven Kalavity, as well as his older sister Regina Chema, 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry served his country in World War II; he graduated from Ohio State University and pursued several successful business ventures throughout his life in Colorado, Oregon and Washington. He was a creative thinker and came up with many inventions, several of which were put to practical business use.
Jerry was mentally vigorous until right before his passing. His family was with him and nearby when he passed. Jerry was the son of Nicholas and Mary (Moskios) Kalavity who emigrated from Cephalonia, Greece to Akron, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Andrew, Gustav, William, Louis, and James, and his sisters Helen and Theodora.
