Jerry Mcteer

Jerry "Papa" McTeer, age 65 of Loveland, Colorado, formerly of Kansas City, Missouri died April 27, 2009 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3800 Mountain Lion Dr. in Loveland. Cremation is planned. Jerry Dean McTeer was born in Wheaton, Missouri to Glen and Pauline McTeer. He married Teri on July 31, 1980 in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. He worked in Data Processing at the Commerce Bank in Kansas City for many years. A job transfer brought him to Colorado in 1992 where he worked for IBM in Boulder, CO. Jerry loved his family, especially his role as "Papa" to his grandbabies. He loved to cook, mostly his family's favorite meals. His love for the game of football and especially the Kansas City Chiefs will never be forgotten. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening. Jerry is survived by his wife, Teri; his daughter, Kristen (and husband, Nathan) Thompson of Denver; his son, Jerry (and wife, Kelly) McTeer of Loveland; his grandchildren, Kaylynn Thompson, Deacon Thompson, Evan McTeer; his mother, Pauline McTeer of Grandview, MO; two brothers, Bill (and Jane) McTeer of Grandview, MO and Lee (and Linda) McTeer of Lee's Summit, MO; his sister, Glenda Turbaville of Peachtree City, Georgia; and numerous nephews, nieces and in-laws. His father, Glen and his brother, Bob, preceded him in death.
