Jerry Lee Murphy born April 21, 1942 Weldona Colorado to John and Dorothy Murphy. He is survived by: Bill Murphy of California, Donnie Murphy of Mesa Arizona, Russell Murphy of South Dakota, Richard Murphy of Fort Collins, Colorado, his sisters Betty Jones of Fort Morgan, Colorado, Dorothy Fuller of Arizona, Rose Smithey of Rangley Colorado, Esther Kelley of Morristown Tennessee and Judy Sutton of LaPlata Maryland.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers John Murphy, Clarence Murphy, and sisters Clara Mylander and Elma Snyder.
Jerry married Joyce Marie Waln on January 12, 1963 in Fort Morgan Colorado, two children were born of this union. John Murphy of Wellington and Jerri Lynn Garcia also of Wellington.Seven grandchildren Kady Murphy, Johnni, Brandi, Jonathan and Jerica Garcia of Wellington and Anthony and Latoya Garcia of Denver. One great grandson Baby Alan Garcia also of Denver.
Jerry was a heavy equipment operator in Commerice city Colorado until his retirement, they then moved to Wellington in 1991 to "our place"as Jerry called it, until his death.
Jerry was tuff throughout his 5 1/2 years of cancer. He would have been surprised that cancer was not what took his life. He fought hard and never quit. He was not a complainer he was "Ford truck tuff" he was a strong man.
Jerry loved his family first, hunting, fishing and horses. His garden was immaculate, he enjoyed wood working, his 78 Ford truck, his Toyota and "his place".
Jerry had a couple concerns, Joyce and his mother-in-law Mrs. Faye Holzworth. He wanted to go to heaven before Joyce and he wanted to die in his home, he got both of those wishes.
Jerry was saved in 1983 in the presence of his brother-in-law Billy Sutton. Jerry was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple in Fort Collins.
Jerry will be greatly missed.
