James (Jim) Allen Smith, of rural Colorado, passed away in his home on December 20, 2020, after a strong fight against cancer, surrounded by his family. Jim was born in Mansfield, Missouri on October 15, 1962, to Teddy Walker Smith and Naomi Jerry Easley.
Jim had a gypsy soul and loved to travel by being an over-the-road truck driver. He met his wife, Lorraine Jean Smith (Dodd) while in California on a run. They were married September 16, 1988, and had their first child, Teddy James (TJ) Allen Smith, on December 12, 1988. Jim and Lorraine had their second child, Jacki Leann Zedell (Smith), on February 12, 1991.
Jim loved being with his family, tinkering on cars, shooting guns, and 4-wheeling in the mountains. He was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed and often would find a solution to a problem that stumped others.
He had a quick sense of humor and loved to tease anyone who would let him.
Jim is survived by his wife Lorraine, son TJ and partner Cynthia, daughter Jacki and husband Daniel, brother John and wife Stacy, father Teddy and wife Julia, as well as two sisters and his mother.
