Jo Ann Morrissey, 88, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Born on December 20, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, Jo Ann was the daughter of Joseph and Ann Glaser. She attended Notre Dame High School in Moylan, Pennsylvania, and went on to earn her nursing diploma from the Fitzgerald-Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Darby, Pennsylvania.
Jo Ann devoted many years of her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, California. She was certified in Post Anesthesia Care and Advanced Cardiac Life Support and was an active member of the American Holistic Nurses' Association. Nursing was not just her profession but her calling, and she served her patients with skill, compassion, and dedication.
Outside of her career, Jo Ann found joy in crafts, especially needlepoint and knitting. She loved shopping and browsing, and she cherished time spent with family and friends. Her warmth, creativity, and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
Jo Ann is survived by her sister, Mary Quain of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania; her brother, Joseph Glaser of La Jolla, California; her son, Kevin Morrissey of San Diego, California; her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and John Crowley of Fort Collins, Colorado; her son, Jon E. Morrisey Jr. and his fiancé, Wendy Imm, of San Diego, California; her grandchildren, John P. Crowley Jr., Joseph Crowley, Angelina Morrissey, and Sarah Morrissey; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter-in-law, Carmen Ortiz Morrissey.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Poudre Valley Hospital, Lemay Avenue Health and Rehab in Fort Collins, and Good Samaritan Assisted Living in Windsor, Colorado, for their compassionate care.
Services and interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in San Diego, California, will take place at a later date, to be announced.
