Joan Adrian

Joan Mary Adrian (Hogan) was born on May 15, 1932 in Washington DC, to Chief Warrant Officer Timothy Aloysius Hogan and Mary Lenore Flaherty Hogan. She along with her brothers Robert and Timothy, grew up on several military bases and spent time with family in New Jersey.

Joan graduated high school from St. Mary's Academy in Alexandria, VA and attended St. Peter's School of Nursing in New Brunswick, NJ. After obtaining her nursing degree, she and several fellow nurses ventured to St. Petersburg, FL where they worked and enjoyed the sunshine and beaches. Joan's trip hitchhiking back from Florida to NJ with a fellow nurse for the holidays displayed a more adventuresome side of spirit! Wherever Joan lived (California, Colorado, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Nashville, TN, and New Jersey), she made many special friends and continued her adventures. Later adventures included trips to the ranch, Ireland, and Italy. She was an independent, strong-willed, determined, and amazing woman that loved her family fearlessly. Her faith and determination inspired her family, friends, and caregivers.

Joan was preceded in death by her son Major Bryan Adrian (USAF), her parents, her brother and sister-in-law (Robert and Barbara Hogan), and other family. She is survived by her husband, Donald Dean Adrian, of Fort Collins, CO., her children, Nancy Vehr (Tony Reyes) of Cheyenne, WY and Fort Collins, CO, Sandra Duda (David) of Newport News, VA, former daughter-in-law Karena Wilson (Tom) of Cheyenne, WY, and Edward (Judit Raquel) of Upland, CA and Lone Tree, CO. Her most cherished role was as a grandmother, and she is survived by her grandchildren Jenny (Alec), Andy, Trevor, Alea, Caroline, Robert, and Patrick. She is also survived by her brother, Timothy Hogan (Eileen) of Fairfield, CT and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members in California, Connecticut, Florida, Louisiana, Montana, New Jersey, South Dakota, Utah, and throughout the US.

Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023, with Memorial Mass following at 3:00 p.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Collins. A reception will follow in the church reception hall.
