Joan Morgan O'Connor

Joan Morgan O'Connor, 86, of Fort Collins, died February 2, 2020.
Joan was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, where she graduated from high school. Following her family's tradition, she took a job with the New York telephone company. She then went into retail at a manufacturing company, where she met her husband, Bob, who was a sales manager there.
In 1955, Joan married Robert Archer James O'Connor Jr. They had seven children. In 1979, the family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, where Joan began working as a secretary for Larimer County Mental Health. She also volunteered at Poudre Valley Hospital, where her smile greeted all those who came in the door. Joan spent some time as the president of the volunteer association there at PVH, she volunteered for the Aspen Club, and she was a president of the home owners' association at Casa Grande Condos.
Joan is survived by her children, Robert (Mavis) O'Connor of Fort Collins, CO, Beth (Jim) Bandy of Wichita, KS, Jean O'Connor (Michael Teague) of Columbia, SC, Eileen (Steve) Hollan of Red Feather Lakes, CO, Guy (Judy) O'Connor of Shelby, NC, and Suzanne (Scott) Heath of Wray, CO. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, Shannon Metty, Kristina Kinney, Rob O'Connor, Jaqulynne Bell, Megan O'Connor Sanders, Jonathan Harris, Chad Heath, Samantha Heath, James Bandy, Heather Bandy, and Morgan Hollan; and ten great-grandchildren, Bradyn Kinney, Dakota Kinney, Ryleigh Kinney, Melanie Metty, Brandon Metty, Jason Bell, Keaton Harris, Kimber Bandy, and Ryker Bandy, and Zach Kinney. She is also survived by her only niece, Mary Lisa Morgan-Kayne
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Archer James O'Connor Jr.; son, John O'Connor; and siblings, Robert Morgan and Fr. Guy Morgan, OFM.
Viewing at 1:00 pm, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 pm, Friday, February 7, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Collins. A reception will follow the Mass at the church.
