JoAnn Biggs Olde was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend. She passed away at sunset on October 18, 2022 with her son Bill and daughter JoEllyn at her side.
She was born to Erva and Margaret Rinckey in Michigan on September 4, 1944. A few years after high school, like many young adults in the 1960's, JoAnn packed up her car and headed for San Francisco, California. She met her husband Davis Biggs there, and together they had Bill and JoEllyn. In the mid 90's JoAnn moved to Denver, Colorado where she met and then got remarried to Ed Olde in 2008. JoAnn and Ed shared a love of helping others, especially seniors, using their unique talents.
JoAnn radiated positivity and love, she wasn't one to say, "cheese" for a photo, she would say, "I love you". She saw so much good in people, she always freely shared a thoughtful, genuine and insightful compliment about a person's appearance, but often her compliments were about the essence of who you are. She saw beauty in people from the inside out. Spend an hour with JoAnn and your head wouldn't fit through the door as you left.
JoAnn found joy in the subtle moments of life, like picking flowers from her garden to make bouquets, or watching the sunset with quiet reflection and gratitude for the natural beauty of this earth.
It is no surprise that mom spent most of her life in California and Colorado. It's likely that the culture of acceptance and celebration of uniqueness in San Francisco and the beauty of spectacular sunsets in Colorado called to her. JoAnn passed away at sunset in Fort Collins, waiting for one last Colorado sunset before she went.
