John B. Glanz, 89, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away on January 19, 2020.
He was born in Sidney, NE on April 27, 1930 to John B. and Molly Kukes Glanz. He graduated from high school at Sunol, NE. He and JoAnn Loch met roller skating and the two were married on April 25, 1951 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sidney, NE.
John worked for Sears Roebuck and Co. as a service technician but spent most of his thirty years as a district manager in the catalog department. The family moved to Fort Collins in 1965. John and JoAnn took square dance lessons and helped start the Square Dusters square dance club. They loved traveling in the RV, fishing and water skiing. They also belonged to 085 Mobile Squares National Square Dance Club. John was a fourth degree Knights of Columbus member. He also loved wood-working and was a handyman to his family.
He is survived by his five children, Vicki Jaques (Vernon), Thomas Glanz (Laura), Teresa Souther (Randy) all of Fort Collins, CO, and Roger Glanz (Joan) of Wellington, and Pamela Spence (Larry), of Las Vegas, Nevada; eleven grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren; one brother, Leslie Glanz; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, JoAnn Glanz, his parents John and Molly Glanz, two brothers, Leroy and Harold Glanz, and two sisters, Clara Benzel and Lucille Martin.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held January 29th at 6:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection with Fourth Degree Honor Guard will be held January 30th at 9:30 AM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Collins. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Garden.
