John Maccagnan, 87 of Fort Collins, Colorado died June 4, 2011 at a local health and rehabilitation center. A memorial service will be held later in the summer at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins. John was born July 26, 1923 in Sopris, Colorado to Antonio and Catherine Maccagnan. He grew up in Sopris and lived formerly, and for most of his life, in Trinidad. He worked in the coal mines around Sopris and later worked as a service manager for the Chevy Dealership in Trinidad. Twenty five years ago, he and his wife Florence moved to Fort Collins where he began working for the Chicago Title Company. John was a man who loved to tinker and work on cars. He brewed his own beer and also enjoyed gardening and volunteering. His wife, Florence, preceded John in death. He is survived by his son, Tony (and wife, Patti) Maccagnan of Colorado Springs; two daughters, Johnlyn Maccagnan of Arvada and Jackie Maccagnan of Fort Collins; his sister, Laura DeAngelis of Trinidad; his brother, Joe Maccagnan of Lakewood; two grandchildren, Todd (and Linda) Maccagnan of Aurora, and Terry (and Michele) Maccagnan of Colorado Springs; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kyle and Ryan.
