John Hoyt Snedeger, age 81, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, in Fort Collins, Colorado, following a courageous battle with illness.
Born on August 29, 1944, in Emporia, Kansas, John was a man of distinct passions who lived life strictly on his own terms. He was happiest when he was moving fast on the open road. He had a deep, lifelong passion for riding motorcycles and target shooting—hobbies that brought him immense joy and freedom. He truly loved sharing his knowledge and educating others on these hobbies, passing along his skills to anyone eager to learn.
In his later chapters, reestablishing relationships with his family became deeply important to him, a goal he successfully achieved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Harriet Nunley. He is survived by his four siblings: his sister, Pat, and his brothers, Richard, Morris, and William. He leaves behind his three children: James, Janet, and Evan, alongside many extended family members and friends.
In honor of his final wishes, his family escorted him on one last motorcycle ride into the mountains past Horsetooth, where his ashes were released into the wind alongside the canyon trails he loved to ride.
