Joline "Jodie" G. Boatright, 52, of Wellington passed away Thursday April 2nd at Poudre Valley Hospital from a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Jodie was born August 18th, 1956 in Des Moines, IA to Ula May "Judy" West and Joseph Columbus Ludlum. Her family moved to Fort Collins, CO in 1960. Jodie attended Harris Elementary, Laurel Elementary, Lincoln Junior High and she graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1974. She then attended Ottawa University and later graduated from Aimes Community College in 1978. She married Alan Boatright on August 6, 1978. They made their home with their children Katie and Erin in Fort Collins. Jodie worked as an Office Manager at the Salvation Army, Neighbor to Neighbor, and Larimer County Human resources. She resigned in 2001 to take care of her father who was in poor health. Most recently she worked as the church secretary at Wellington Community Church until she was diagnosed in October of 2007. As a young woman Jodie was an avid softball player and played for championship teams with GoJo sports. While at Ottawa University she played varsity volleyball. She continued on with her love of sports by coaching youth sports, later including her own children's teams. She was also very active in the Girl Scouts of America throughout her childhood. She was part of a Fort Collins group who had the opportunity to tour Europe. Jodie enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing, camping and attending CSU football games. She was very active in the Wellington Community Church where she was part of the Worship Team, the Bell Choir, and women's ministries. Jodie loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Jodie is survived by her husband Alan, two daughters, Katie Menard (Jeff), Erin Trostel (Bryan), and three grandchildren Madison, Jacob and Caleb Menard all of Wellington. She is also survived by her brother Bruce Ludlum of Steamboat Springs. Jodie was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Judy Ludlum and brother, Christopher Ludlum. A memorial service celebrating the life of Jodie will be held on Wednesday, April 8 at 10:30am at First Baptist Church, 900 E Prospect in Fort Collins. A lunch reception will follow service also to be held at First Baptist. Reverend Dan Gardinier from Wellington Community Church will be officiating. Flowers can be sent to First Baptist Church or donations can be made to The Alpha Center of Fort Collins.
