The family of Jon "Garrett" White is sad to report his passing on June 3, 2010 in Loveland Colorado. Born January 31, 1983 in Longmont, Colorado, Garrett grew up west of Fort Collins on Rim Rock Ranch. He is now with his Lord. Surviving Garrett are his parents, Jack and Beth White of Ft. Collins, sister Jessica White and husband Jay Mansfield and two children, Evan and Ivy, of Loveland. Also, Uncle and Aunt, Jerry and Gerry White, and daughters Laura and Heather and family. Garrett is also survived by his fiancé Katie Johnson of Loveland and his beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Fuzzy. Garrett's biological mother, Susan Roche, resides in Aurora, Colorado. Passing before Garrett were his paternal grandparents, Vincent and Elva White of Ft. Collins, and maternal grandparents, Austin and Betty Joy of Anchorage, Alaska. Through high school, Garrett enjoyed riding ponies and Appaloosa horses that his dad raised, and playing with the family Dalmatians. Garrett's mare, Won a Queen, was Champion Two Year Old Race Filly and Garrett thrilled at his magazine interviews, and the trophies and money she won. Garrett also team penned with his sister Jessi and cousin Laura for several years. He attended Rocky Mtn. High School and graduated from St. John's Military School in Salina, Kansas in 2001. Garrett proudly completed the school's Battaan Death March conducted in White Sands, New Mexico, being one of only a handful of students to successfully complete the tortuous 26-mile march. Other than living for a year in Florida and experiencing one too many hurricanes, Garrett lived in the northern Colorado area. He loved cooking, the outdoors, animals, sports, and music. A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 1:00 pm, at The Father's House Ministries, 241 Racquette Drive, Fort Collins. Donations or contributions are suggested in Garrett's honor to Suicide Resource Center of Larimer County, 315 E. 7th Street, Loveland, CO 80537 (970-635-9301) or any charity of your choosing.
