Jon A. Wilkinson, age 77, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.

Jon was born March 20, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, to parents Robert Wilkinson and Ruby Mars. He grew up in Chicago and graduated from Luther High School South before enlisting in the United States Air Force. After his second deployment in Vietnam, he moved to Denver, Colorado, where he received a bachelor's degree in business communications from Metropolitan State College. In 1974, Jon moved to Fort Collins, where he studied theater in the master's program at Colorado State University and was actively involved in several community theatre groups.

Jon proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant after 30 years of service. He took every opportunity to travel and explore new places where he could learn from the experiences of others. Beyond his military service, Jon was a committed and humble public servant who dedicated his time to many organizations throughout Colorado and Wyoming.

Jon is survived by his son, Christopher Wilkinson of Fort Collins, CO; daughter, Robin (Daniel) Kelley of Belgrade, MT; and longtime companion, Fredell Boston of Fort Collins, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Service will take place at 10:00 am on Friday, August 26, 2022, at the Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado, 2626 West Horsetooth Rd., Fort Collins. A Committal Service with full military honors will take place at 2:00 pm the same day at the Cheyenne National Cemetery, 8611 Hildreth Rd., Cheyenne, Wyoming.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Scottish Rite Childhood Language Clinic, 1820 Capital Avenue, Cheyenne, WY 82001.
