Jonathan Edward Glenn Chaplin, born on October 26th, 2001, passed away on August 18th, 2024 in Wellington, Colorado.
Jonathan graduated from Poudre High School in 2020, where he was a proud member of the Poudre H.S. Wrestling Team. As a member of that team, where he was fondly known as "Chappy", he went to several championships. The wrestling team was his brotherhood, and he had some of his happiest moments with them. Along with wrestling, he also played football at Poudre High School.
Jonathan was employed as a materials tester with Yeh and Associates, a construction engineering firm, where he most recently worked on projects with the Colorado Department of Transportation. He was an exemplary employee and was considering a career in engineering due to his mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.
Although Jonathan was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was raised in Colorado from the age of three. Therefore, he was a Coloradoan through and through. He loved the openness of the Colorado landscape and the sense of freedom it evoked.
He was an animal lover, music lover and gamer. He relished spending time with his beloved Alaskan malamutes, Floki and Mishka. Jonathan played the bass guitar and was a metal enthusiast, attending many concerts with his mom, dad and brother. He loved playing video games and had many friends in the gaming community.
Jonathan leaves behind his mother (Laura Chaplin), father (Bill Chaplin) and older brother (Morgan Chaplin). He also leaves behind beloved aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Jonathan's life will take place on Saturday, August 24th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Goes Funeral Care in Fort Collins, Colorado. Jonathan's family welcomes anyone who wishes to pay their respects to Jonathan; come and go as you please.
