Joseph Michael Belanger, 31, of Loveland Colorado passed away September 29, 2013. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, October 4, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton's Catholic Parish, 5450 S. Lemay Ave., Ft. Collins. Immediately following the mass, the procession will take us all to Grandview Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
Joseph was born and raised in Oxnard, California where he worked at Cisco Sporting and Fishing as a Deck hand and at Sports Chalet in footware and receiving. He came to Fort Collins in late 2004; originally working at Garts Sporting Goods until going to work with Yancey's (a produce supplying company) as a fork lift operator. He worked there until the time of his death.
At Yancey's he was recognized for being an outstanding employee multiple times over the years. The business recently became Food Services of America and Joseph was recently promoted there.
His passion was fire fighting, which he was turning into his dream career. He began as a volunteer with the Larimer County Yellow Jackets (a brushfire crew). He later joined the Miliken Fire Department and most recently had joined up with the Berthoud Fire Department.
Family always came first for Joe, but fishing, fire fighting and four wheeling ranked pretty close to spending time with them. If he could have done all of them at the same time, he would be in heaven.
Survivors include his children Isaiah and Aiden; his father Gary Belanger, sisters Sarah Belanger Nava and Janell(Jake) Zebell; his brother, Jeremiah (and Juko); his girlfriend Jamie Boller; step-children, Jayden Castro and Mickenzie Boller; six nieces; and a nephew. His mother, Jackie Belanger preceded Joe in death, only last year.
The family asks that donations be made to the Berthoud Association of Professional Firefighters. You may send them in care of Goes Funeral Care, 3665 Canal Drive, Suite E, Fort Collins, CO 80524.

The Berthoud Association of Professional Firefighters is coordinating donations for the children and family of FF Joseph Belanger. The family faces immediate needs as they cope with their loss, all financial donations will be passed directly to the family.
