Joseph Angel Alcala, Jr., 60, left us on February 4, 2024 after a years-long battle with cancer. Born on March 23, 1963 to Elsie and Joseph Sr. in Sterling, Colorado, Joseph was passionate about service, safety, and technology. In 1988 he enlisted in the United States Army and served for two years, during which time he was recognized with the Army Achievement Medal. After an honorable discharge, Joseph set his sights on law enforcement and moved to Sacramento, California, graduating from the Sacramento Police Academy in 1991. Opting to pursue private investigations, he founded his own firm, Sleuth Solutions, a progressive and innovative worldwide network of consultants specializing in crime prevention and private investigation, which was successfully acquired in 2001. During this time, he also oversaw security and training for corrections organizations. Joseph enjoyed tinkering with technology, watching professional wrestling, and caring for his family. When Joseph was diagnosed with cancer, he was given approximately six months to live. His tenacity amazed doctors by lasting for over four years instead – a fighter to the end. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Elsie and Joseph Sr. He is survived by his wife Desiree, sister Deanna, brothers Anthony and Sterling, daughter RyAnne, sons Roman and Anthony, and grandsons Adrian, Eli, Seven, and Kai. He died surrounded by his family. A private service was held on February 9, 2024 in Fort Collins, Colorado, with a military ceremony to follow at a later time. Rest well, our beloved husband, father, son, brother and papa.
