Joshua "Josh" Michael Evans, 44, of Loveland, Colorado passed away Thursday, March 25th at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland.
A private, family memorial service will be held. Pastor Tim Runtsch will lead the memorial service. There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place. Masks and social distancing are required.
Born on February 8th, 1977 in St. Paul, NE, Josh was the firstborn son to Jim and Elaine (Yount) Evans. He attended and graduated from St. Paul Public Schools before eventually earning a Bachelor of Arts in Geography, and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. On June 5th, 2006, he married Christy Schwede in the presence of close family and friends in Negril, Jamaica. After marriage, Josh and Christy welcomed two children into the world; Annika Evans, on July 1st, 2008 and Easton Evans, February 14th, 2011. Shortly after, the family fulfilled their ultimate dream and moved to Loveland to enjoy the beauty of God's creation in the mountains.
Throughout the years, Josh served as a Civil Engineer in the Northern Colorado area and truly enjoyed the work environment and fellow workers.
Josh's passion was spending time with family, but he also had various other hobbies; fishing, coin collecting, hunting, trap shooting, hiking, camping, boating, golfing, reloading, kayaking, spending time with friends, and was quite exceptional as a DIY handyman/Mr. Fix It/fixing underground sprinklers/Honey-Do list specialist. In true-engineer fashion, you could expect every project or activity being thoroughly planned, created, and finished with the utmost perfection.
Josh is survived by his wife, Christy of Loveland, step-daughter Kirsten Ruhge of Lincoln,NE, children Annika and Easton Evans of Loveland, mother Elaine Evans of Fremont, NE, brother John (Stacie) of Papillion, NE, nieces Madeline, Brynn, and Mia Evans, of Papillion, NE, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and dearest of friends.
Josh was preceded in death by his beloved dad, Jim Evans, maternal grandparents Glen Dale and Edna Yount, paternal grandparents, Francis J and Dora Evans, Beryl Evans, Aunt Betty Yount, cousin, Steffe Evans, and 2nd cousin, Halle Rose. In recognition and memory to those that have passed, Josh has donated his organs to help save and make an impact on future families.
Memorials are suggested to the Redeemer Lutheran Church (NextGen Ministries & Kids Connect) or Annika and Easton's higher education fund.
