With deep love and gratitude for a life well-lived, we celebrate the homegoing of Joyce Marie Wilgers, who passed into the arms of her Savior on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born in Russell, Kansas, to Louis and Clara Bieker, Joyce spent her life radiating warmth, grace, and unwavering faith. She made her home in Fort Collins, Colorado, where she shared 62 beautiful years of marriage with Phil Wilgers, the love of her life, who preceded her in death in 2021. Together, they built a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to family and God.
Joyce was a gifted pianist, performing in her early years and later sharing her talent through teaching. Her music was a reflection of her soul—gentle, joyful, and full of praise. She led countless Bible studies over the years, nurturing hearts and pointing others toward Christ with wisdom and compassion. Her faith was not just spoken—it was lived, deeply and daily.
She found joy in the simple pleasures: spending time with her beloved family, mountain drives (with a McDonald's ice cream cone in hand of course!), and quiet moments of prayer and reflection. Her life was a testimony to Psalm 100:2—"Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing."
Joyce was preceded in death by her oldest son David, but is survived by her other children Chris (Tammy) Wilgers, Amy (Eric) Penniman, and Laurie (Kent) Bowen; her brother Carr (Charlie) Bieker, sister Linda (Jim) Collins and sister-in-law MaryLee (Nick) Warner; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will carry her love forward.
A celebration of Joyce's life and faith will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church (7755 Greenstone Trail, Fort Collins, CO 80525), on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 1:30 PM. All who knew her are invited to join in honoring her legacy and rejoicing in the promise of eternal life.
