Juan Daniel Maes, 55, passed away on April 19, 2026. Born in Las Vegas, New Mexico in 1971, Juan spent his early years as a military child, living in many places and experiencing the world in a way that shaped his open heart and deep appreciation for people.
Juan was a man who left a mark on everyone who knew him. He carried both strength and gentleness in a way that made people feel safe, seen, and deeply cared for. He loved his family fiercely, and there was never a doubt that his children were the center of his world.
He had a gift for making people laugh and bringing light into any room he entered. Even in difficult seasons, he showed resilience and quiet courage, continuing to show up with love and a heart that never stopped giving. His presence, humor, and the way he cared for others will be remembered by all who knew him.
Juan was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children—Sebastian, Alexia (Jon), Hezekiah, Alyssa, Elise, and Gabriela—and his cherished grandchildren—Aurora, Jonathan, and Azalaya. In them, his spirit continues to shine.
Juan is lovingly remembered by his mother, Dora Maes; his sister, Debbie Gallegos; his brother-in-law, Ed; and his beloved nieces and nephews—Sól, Samantha-Rei, Caleb, and Kiara—along with many extended family members and dear friends. He is reunited in peace with his father, Juan De Los Reyes Maes; his grandparents, Eligio Maes, and Pedro and Lillie Mares; and all his family members who have gone before him.
Though his passing was sudden and deeply painful, we find peace in knowing he is now at rest. He is no longer in pain and is fully in the presence of God.
Our family appreciates your prayers, love, and support during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations to help cover funeral expenses are deeply appreciated and can be made at Go Fund Me:
