Judith Ann Croissant (Judy) passed away February 4, 2024. She was 84.
Born to Joseph and Alice Peterson of Spring Valley, Illinois. Judy spent her childhood days swimming and fishing Lake DePue. She was an excellent student, graduating from DePue schools in 1957 as Valedictorian, then attending Illinois Community College to study business. She married Ernest J Croissant in July 1957 and together they had three boys.
Judy loved the outdoors and the family vacationed and camped often. They moved to Colorado in 1971 and by 1974, Judy had accepted a position at Colorado State University in the Horticulture department. She was honored by the university in 1978 as an Achievement Award Winner for "Outstanding Use of Individual Job Skills". She was called "the department's thesaurus" and also "the 'glue' that held the department together". She retired in 2003 after 29 years of service.
Judy spent her retirement years taking care of family, which was always very important to her. Judy was a fantastic cook, she enjoyed working in the yard, tending her flower garden, reading books, going to lunch with her friends, and hosting family get togethers.
Judy is survived by two of her sons Randall and Peter, and her sister Marilyn. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Alice Peterson, her husband Ernest, son Martin, sister Marcia and brother Joe.
May she rest in peace.
