Kathy Ruth Gloria (Rodenbeck) Tripcony October 17, 1950-June 4, 2023

Kathy entered her heavenly home where she was welcomed by her precious son, Tim, and loving sister, Ruth. She began her earthly life in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where later at the age of 21, she met the love of her life, Denny. They were married for 50 years and had two children together, Joy and Tim. Kathy consistently demonstrated leadership in every area of her life and throughout her entire life, starting with her working years. After the family moved to Colorado in 1977, Kathy was on the planning team to start up two different Lutheran Early Childhood Centers, and then served in the roles of director and teacher for 30 years. The kids in her preschool and kindergarten classes were more than students to her. They became friends who she often kept in touch with, even decades after they left her classroom.

After retirement, she helped create and run an educational business with her daughter for six years. She founded and ran Paws for Tales, bringing dogs into schools to strengthen students' literacy skills. After her son's death in 2014, she found comfort in bringing the Comfort Dog program (and dogs Cubby and Devorah) to her church and the community. She wrote her book, "Voice of Suicide, Voice of Hope" to share her story that others might be encouraged and know that they are not alone. After her diagnosis of MS, she participated in events to raise funds for awareness and research. In her church communities, for over 50 years, she created or led parenting classes, book clubs, and many Bible study groups.

Although Kathy was a dynamic leader and teacher, she will be remembered most for how she loved people. Her strong faith in God, her values, character, and integrity drove her to treat everyone as if they were the most important person to her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her husband Denny, daughter Joy, grandson Evan, brother Ted (Ann), her beloved guide dog, Louie, along with countless friends and family.

A memorial service will be held on June 27 at 1:30 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 7755 Greenstone Trail in Fort Collins, CO 80525. A light reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. If you are unable to attend the service in person, you can watch the live stream at https://live.redeemerconnect.com/ .

Donations can be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, with funds going to both the Comfort Dog Program and Paws for Tales.
