Kathy Lemons, 85, of Parks, NE, died Wednesday May 18, 2022, at Golden Peaks Nursing Home in Fort Collins, CO.
She was born September 23, 1936, in Hanna, WY, daughter of Louis and Catherine (Evans) Scarpelli. She received her schooling in Hanna where she graduated in 1955. The family then moved to Laramie.
She married Dan Lemons on February 1, 1958, in Laramie. She worked in retail for a short time. The family then moved to Fort Collins, CO in 1970 where she worked at King Soopers for many years. In 1995, they moved to Benkleman, NE. Both Dan and Kathy managed the local grocery store. They also had their own successful catering business. She also cooked for the Benkleman Senior Center, a place that was dear to her heart.
She enjoyed cooking, bowling, and sewing. She was part of the Sisterhood of the Red Hat Ladies, in which she made many close friends. She loved taking care of her grandchildren. She was known by her family as the "little general."
She was preceded in death by brother, Anthony Scarpelli.
She is survived by her husband, Dan Lemons; two daughters, Laury Dennis and Melissa Turner; son Ken Lemons; six grandchildren, Candice Kennedy, Chris Dennis, Casey Dennis, Zach Lemons, Olivia Lemons, Violet Turner; and five great-grandchildren.
