Katie Marie Weatherhogg, beloved wife, devoted mother, daughter, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Windsor, Colorado on July 24, 2025, following a three-year battle with cancer.
Katie was born in Springfield, Missouri to Nancy and Dwight Rahmeyer and grew up there with her younger brother Grant and a group of girls who remain cherished life-long friends. Katie met her husband Konrad during a college summer in New Hampshire while teaching waterskiing at Camp Robin Hood. They were married in Scotland and have two children together, Callum and Duncan, both of whom lit up Katie's world and have inherited her love for all things outdoors. The mountains were Katie's sanctuary where she ran, biked, skied, camped and took her boys on weekly hikes.
Katie always wanted to be a doctor and was a proud alumna of the University of Missouri and the University of Minnesota Medical School. She spent her intern year at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire before completing her residency training at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Following a six-year spell of practicing medicine in her hometown, the pull of the mountains was too great, and the family moved to Windsor, Colorado in 2015 where Katie worked for the University of Colorado Health system until her passing.
As a dedicated physician Katie poured her heart into her job, offering treatment and comfort to countless patients over her years of service. Her calm strength and advocacy for her patients made her a trusted figure in the medical community.
Those fortunate enough to know Katie will remember her radiant smile, her easy laugh, her boundless energy, her unwavering strength and her generosity of spirit. She had a gift for making people feel seen, heard, and unequivocally accepted. Her legacy is one of compassion, resilience, and joy.
Katie is survived by her husband, her two loving sons, the Rahmeyer family, and a community that feels her loss deeply. Although her time with us feels too short, the light that she brought to the world will continue to shine in all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of Katie's life will be held at 2pm on October 25th, 2025, at the Windsong Estate Event Center, 2901 Saddler Blvd, Fort Collins, CO 80524.
Let us remember Katie not in sorrow, but in gratitude for a life lived fully, a heart shared freely, and a legacy that will continue to inspire.
