Kendra Rose Schwartz

Kendra Rose Schwartz, beloved daughter of Stephen and Pamela Schwartz, of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away on May 16, 2014. Born at Poudre Valley Hospital on May 18, 1979, Kendra was a lifetime Fort Collins resident. She was a 1997 graduate of Rocky Mountain High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in fiber arts and a minor in Spanish from CSU in May of 2009.

Kendra was an avid coffee drinker, loved yoga, and had excellent taste in fashion. She loved playing soccer and swimming. She was friendly, loved to laugh, and had a gift for working with and understanding children. She had just completed her Early Childhood Certification at Front Range Community College. She enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hiking, snowboarding, and being in the sunshine, especially at the ocean. Kendra wrote prolifically in daily journals and corresponded with many loved ones through creative poetry.

She was a highly gifted artist, working in many media. She loved painting, drawing, weaving, sewing, needlework, and created many one-of-a-kind crafts for her friends and family. Many of her pieces enrich the homes of those she loved.


She is survived by her mother and father, Pamela and Stephen Schwartz, of Fort Collins; sister Rebecca A. Schwartz, of Denver; sister Julia E. Schwartz of Baltimore, MD; brother Theodore T. Schwartz, of Seattle, WA, and her maternal grandmother Thelma R. Tucker, of Pittsfield, ME.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Theodore and Anne Schwartz; her uncle Michael Schwartz; her maternal grandfather Richard C. Tucker, and last but not least, her mischievous cat Picasso.

A Memorial Service will be held at LifePointe Church, 900 E Prospect Rd, Fort Collins, CO 80524 on Thursday, May 22 at 11AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Larimer County chapter of National Alliance on Mental Illness. Donations may be sent in Kendra's memory to: NAMI Larimer P.O. Box 2926 Loveland CO 80539.
