Kenneth I. Easterly

d. Feb 6, 2023

Kenneth Ivan Easterly, age 77, of Severance, Colorado passed away peacefully at home with Brenda at his side on February 6, 2023.

Ken was born November 21, 1945 in Enid, Oklahoma to parents, Marvin and Margaret Easterly. He graduated from Enid High School. Ken worked various types of employment including Massey Ferguson. As an adult Ken returned to school and pursued a degree in nursing from Hutchinson Community College in Kansas. Ken worked at hospitals in Kansas, Oklahoma and Colorado including Montrose, Rifle, Colorado Springs, Brush and most recently Fort Collins, where he retired in 2009 from Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado.

Ken was skilled as a registered nurse however, he was gifted in the psychological aspect connecting with people under his care in meaningful ways to the person beyond a health diagnosis. He felt honored to teach new nurses to succeed.

In 1999, Ken was married to Brenda Scott, with whom he shared the last 24 years. He enjoyed his new family. Ken endlessly teased his family. He was proud of Wade as a father and a man. Blake was a comfort in his final years doing many things at home he was unable to. He loved being with Kelsey, his granddaughter. He welcomed Ally (Wade's wife) from South Africa with open arms into our family. Ken was a strong Christian and a caring soul, who will be missed by many in the community.

Ken is survived by his wife, Brenda Scott; step-children Wade Scott (spouse Ally) and Blake Scott. Children from a previous marriage: Christy, Carl and Julie. Several grandchildren including Kelsey Scott; sister, Barbara Carey (and one niece); previous spouse Carolyn Topper. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Journey's End
As I travel down the paths of life
I long for the journey's end
For my destination is with my Savior
Resting in the arms of my Best Friend.
