Kenneth Dale White Jr.
January 16, 1936 to February 29th 2016
Ken was born on January 16th, 1936, in Lansing, Michigan. His childhood included living in Michigan, Florida and California. During his school years, he participated in sports and music and earned the honor of becoming an Eagle Scout. After graduating high school, Ken held several different employment positions until became a true entrepreneur . He successfully started numerous business in California prior to beginning his life long career as a pilot. This was Ken's "Dream Job." He loved flying and worked his way thru almost all of the existing aircrafts, "landing" on the top as captain of a transpacific 747B. He met and married the love of his life, Judith Jean Scheirman in 1976. They moved to Ft. Morgan, bought a farm and Ken added yet one more career to his resume.
Ken & Judy loved to travel and sail having several different boats on the coast of California. He, of course, was the captain and Judy was his first mate. In 1996, he retired after 32 years from United Airlines. They spent several more years sailing to exciting places, and then decided to travel the United States by motor home. The adventures were numerous, too many to mention with Judy as the mapper and, once again, Ken as the captain. Ken loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. They always knew Grandpa would take them on walks as far as they wanted to go and play any game anytime that they asked him to. All the while, he was inspiring them to develop their adventurous spirit.
After a brief illness, Ken left this life in peace surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Judy White, sons Douglas White of Caldwell, Idaho, Greg White of Thornton, Colorado, and Chris Cavaleri and wife Dal, of Ft. Morgan, Colorado, and daughters Margo Mills of Boulder, Colorado and Teresa Martens and husband, Kevin, of Ft. Morgan, Colorado, sisters Carol Ruddick, Kay Wirth, Betty Jane Wilson and Pam Thompson, sisters-in-laws, Diane Meininger and Nina Flohr, eleven grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth White, Sr., Fara White, and Helen Barnes, and his son, Steven White. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 7th, at 10:30 at Christ Congregational Church, 730 Ensign St., Fort Morgan, Colorado 80701. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer Association, Colorado Chapter, 918 13th St., Suite 1, Greeley, CO, 80631, or Christ Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 730 Ensign, Ft. Morgan, CO 80701.
Ken will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
