Kent F. Johnson, 73 of Fort Collins died on January 12, 2017. He was born in Carroll, Iowa on July 28, 1943 to Frank T. Johnson, Sr. and Caroline F. Johnson. Kent was predeceased by his beloved wife, Bernadine W. Johnson, on November 12, 2010. He is survived by son, Tad (Jona) Johnson of Loveland, Colorado; son, Ric (Shannon) Johnson of Fort Collins, Colorado and son, Dan (Stephanie) Johnson of Edwards, Colorado. Kent's grandchildren are Shelby, Isaac, Skylar and Jackson Johnson; granddaughter, Alexa predeceased him. He is also survived by brother, Frank Johnson, Jr. (Jody) of Fort Collins, Colorado; brother, Mark (Margie) Johnson of Centennial, Colorado; sister, Cathy (Jim) Maguire, who is deceased of Fort Collins, Colorado; sisters-in-law, Kathy Dannatt, Elaine Hehn and Joyce Brown, all of Colorado and brother-in-law, Bernard Wombacher of Montana, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Kent moved to Fort Collins with his parents in 1948 and attended Washington School, Lincoln Junior High and graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1961. He also attended Parson's College in Fairfield, Iowa.
Kent was employed by Everitt Lumber Company in Fort Collins and Salina, Kansas, Lindell Real Estate, the Group INc., and Coldwell Banker Real Estate in Fort Collins. After his years as a realtor, Kent owned and operated Kent Johnson Appraisal Company. He also owned Johnson's ChemDry Carpet Cleaning Company with his son, Tad for 14 years.
Kent had many friends and acquaintances whom he cultivated with his unique sense of humor in the real estate industry; through the Southridge Men's Golf League and at his favorite hangout, Fort Collins Elk's Club.
The family would especially like to thank those friends of Kent who visited him during his years of declining health and dedicated staff of the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of the Rockies.
Memorial Service, 9:30 AM, Tuesday, January 24th at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 2000 Stover Street, Fort Collins.
In lieu of flowers, donations many be made to Pathway's Hospice of Northern Colorado.
