Kevin Jess Michie, 64, of Fort Collins, Colorado, ascended into heaven, after a brave five-year struggle with a rare brain cancer.
Kevin, 5th generation Fort Collins native was born in Fort Collins on July 13, 1960, son of Thaine and Marilynn Michie. He grew up on an acreage in south Fort Collins with his brother Jeff & sister Trudi. When only a young boy, he and his brother farmed 60 acres using his grandfather's equipment. They would get up in the middle of the night to irrigate, sometimes coming home smelling like a skunk. Kevin saved his farming money to buy his first car and help with college expenses. He was a graduate of Rocky Mountain High School, obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences at Colorado State University (Fort Collins), and graduated summa cum laude earning a Doctor of Chiropractic at Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa.
His passion was helping others as he served as a chiropractor and friend to thousands of patients in Fort Collins for 35 years.
Kevin truly loved the Lord and was a prayer warrior. In his last days he continually prayed for his family to be comforted.
Most dear to Kevin were God, his faith in Jesus, his loving wife of 20 years Kathleen Yocum Michie, his parents and siblings. He was passionate about making sure Kathleen & his parents knew how much he loved them by telling them daily.
In addition to his wife and parents, Kevin leaves his sister Trudi Romero (Ernie), brother Jeff Michie (Lisa), son Tyler Michie (Jane) and their children Spencer and Riley; in-laws Kristin Yocum, Sandy Scott (Mike Houdek), his beloved dog Joy, alpaca JonLuc and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Kevin's name to Timberline Church in Fort Collins.
A Celebration of Life for Kevin Michie will take place at Timberline Church, 2908 S Timberline Road, Fort Collins, CO 80526 on Friday, July 26th at 10:00am. A virtual option is available at :
