Kimberly Joann Kreutzer passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021. She fought a courageous 2 ½ year battle with brain cancer, glioblastoma multiform. Kimber was born in Lincoln, Nebraska along with her twin brother Kevin on February 16th, 1968. She moved to Boulder, Colorado with her family when she was sixteen months old. The family moved to Gunbarrel when she was four years old.
Kimber attended Niwot Elementary, Longmont Junior High and Niwot High School; While in high school, Kimber started her working career at the Klein family movie theater where she held a supervisor position and developed life-long friendships. After graduating high school, she worked at World Savings & Loan in Boulder. From there she went onto Norbel Credit Union in Longmont making lifelong friends, before moving onto work for IBM in Boulder. Kimber was a project manager for 11 years before being laid off from IBM. She took advantage of their retraining program and attended Aims Community College where she received an associate degree in business. Kimber found that she loved going back to school and exceled; we were all so proud of her. Kimber then worked for the city of Loveland in the planning department, and finally, at the Loveland Art Museum. Kimber truly enjoyed working with the public, her coworkers, volunteers, her projects, and artists she encountered while working at the museum! She had a great respect and love for all people she worked with.
Kimber married Curtis L. Stevens of Longmont, CO in 1989. They have two children, Sheridan Stevens of Providence, RI, and Maxwell Stevens of Loveland, CO. Kimber is survived by her two children; her husband Jack Kreutzer of Loveland, CO; her mother Sandra Alles of Longmont, CO; her father Daniel Ellis of Longmont, CO; her twin brother Kevin Alles of Longmont, CO and his son Tyler Alles; her sister Kelly (Miller) and Todd Nauman of Thornton, CO and their children Alyssa and Tabor Miller; her stepson Britton (Maria); her daughter-in-law Van Tran; her grandchildren Kale, Quincey, Phasia and Lily; her tribe, Cathleen and Dennis Zoss, Rebecca Bayne and Peter Bartram, Stacey and Mike Wess, and Kirsten Kokkin and Jan of Oslo, Norway; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws, too many to name. Kimber is proceeded in death by her brother in-law Paul Miller, and her stepson Brooks Kreutzer.
We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to TRU Community Care hospice for their excellent care at the end of Kimber's life; We could not have done it without them! In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to brain cancer research and TRU community care.
Kimber was a bright and shining star, so when you gaze up at the night sky, look for the brightest star you see; that is Kimber shining down on all of us. We love you and miss you sweetie. With love, Mom, Jack, Shady and Max.
