Larry Vernon Connors, age 82, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado, due to complications following cardiac arrest. Born in Ogden, Utah on December 17, 1942, to Vernon W. and Irene Connors, Larry was a dedicated family man, a passionate outdoorsman, and a tireless professional.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Bernice Connors, parents Vernon W. and Irene Connors, and sister, Sharon Thorpe. Larry is survived by his sons Patrick Connors (Veraya), and John Connors (Kate Peterson), as well as his cherished grandchildren: Ramsy (14), George (11), Vernon (6), Bobby (2), and Frances (14) and Moira (12).
Larry's early years were spent in Longmont and Lakewood, Colorado, where he developed a lifelong love for fishing and a passion for academics. A natural scholar, he excelled in school and earned degrees in accounting and an MBA from the University of Denver.
Larry's commitment to service extended to the U.S. Air Force Air National Guard, where he was promoted to Staff Sergeant while serving with the 107th Tactical Unit out of Niagara Falls, including a deployment to Korea. His work ethic and leadership skills were evident in his professional life as he worked tirelessly as both an employee and manager, earning the respect and admiration of those around him.
A lover of skiing, Larry shared this passion with his wife, Bernice, and their sons. Together, they formed countless memories on the slopes, a testament to his love for adventure and family. Larry's devotion to his family extended beyond hobbies; he was a deeply caring husband, especially during Bernice's final years, and an extraordinary father and grandfather. His unwavering support was felt at every school event, sports game, and recital, where he proudly cheered on his grandchildren.
Though Larry's passing leaves an irreplaceable void, his family takes solace in the lessons he imparted: hard work, kindness, and the importance of love and support. While it is difficult to navigate life without his guiding presence, they will rely on his teachings and the foundation he built, carrying his spirit forward in everything they do.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to local charities supporting veterans or the arts, two causes that were dear to Larry's heart.
