Leonard J. Bengford 92 of Fort Collins, Colorado died July 12, 2017, at home surrounded by Family. He was born in Arthur, IA on December 5, 1924 to Joseph W. Bengford and Helen (Dinges) Bengford.
Leonard served in the Merchant Marines and the Army.
He met JoAnn Zeglin in 1955 and married June 6, 1956. They moved to Fort Collins shortly after, they started their life and family together.
He built the home they lived in for 60 years and was able to pass there as he had wished.
Leonard is survived by his wife, JoAnn (Zeglin) Bengford; children, Greg, Kelly, Cheryl (Kim); grandchildren, Ryan, Austin, Tyler, Mitchell, Jesse, and Myles;
siblings, Dorothy (Jim) Barkley, Mary Vanscoy, Paul (Darlene) Bengford; brother Frank (Sandy) Bengford; surviving In-Laws, Malinda(Denny) Bengford, Darlene(Don) Bengford.
Preceded in death by his son, Doug; his Parents, Joe and Helen Bengford;
siblings, Juanita (Don) Ahrenholtz, Gerald (Ruth) Bengford, Don and Denny Bengford; brother in law, Jim Vanscoy.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, July 17th at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 1220 University Ave. Fort Collins.
In lieu of flowers pleas make donations to St. John XXIII Catholic Church.
