Leonard Hutson

Leonard R. Hutson, age 79 of Ft. Collins, Colorado died August 14, 2010. Born and raised in Mason City, Iowa, Leonard's faith has always been the center of his life. He became a Brother in the Conception Abbey in Conception, Missouri and later attended nursing school at Sacred Heart College. He worked as an emergency room nurse for the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Denver for 25 years. He married Leah Kmietek on August 21, 1971 in Middletown, Connecticut. They lived for 25 years in Aurora, CO and, after retiring, moved to Ft. Collins 12 years ago. Leonard is survived by his wife Leah and three children. His eldest son is Joseph (and wife, Janelle) Hutson of Castle Rock, CO. The second is Paul (and his wife, Brittany) of Ft. Collins. His daughter, Nicola Hutson lives in Greeley, CO. He is also survived by five siblings: Phyllis Marinis, Marian Spletstoser, Marlys Workman, Charlotte Hutson and John Hutson. Leonard is the proud grandfather of six beautiful children. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 17th at Blessed John 23rd University Parish, 1220 University Ave., Ft. Collins. The interment, immediately following the mass, will be in Grandview Cemetery, at the West end of Mountain Ave., Ft. Collins.
