Loretta Mastriano Painter, 64, of Ft. Collins, Colorado died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. Loretta was born on Aug. 27, 1943 in Providence, R.I. She was the third child of Domenic and Loretta Mastriano. Loretta graduated from Central High and married Kent Painter on June 20, 1964. They moved to Ft. Collins in 1973. Loretta worked as a secretary, then bookkeeper at Blessed John XXIII and spent the last 13 years as an award-winning sales associate at Foley's/Macy's. She was a top-notch cook and Loretta's Lasagna was her signature dish. Loretta lived in Colorado for 35 years, but she still kept her East Coast accent. She loved to go for walks at City Park and around Foothills Fashion Mall. She liked bowling, gardening, hanging out with friends and family, helping people and spending time at the beach every summer. Loretta was a dog-lover as well as an avid Denver Broncos fan. Loretta was spunky, outgoing and had a lively spirit. She had a quote or witty saying for every situation. She is survived by her husband, Kent of Ft. Collins; daughter Debbie of Johnston, R.I. and daughter Jill of Los Angeles, Calif.; sister Lucille Scotti (and Vincent) of Smithfield, R.I.; and brother Domenic Mastriano (and Caroline) of Somerset, Mass. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 13th at 10 a.m. at Blessed John XXIII on University Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Denver Rescue Mission, P.O.
