Louise Padden

Louise Paddin, 82, of Boulder, Colorado, passed away on July 29, 2025, in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was born in Queens, New York on November 19, 1942.

Louise was the only child of the late Edward Padden and Florence Kopson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Evert Brown. Louise was a devoted mother to Evert's 3 daughters, Wendy, Julie, and Sherry. She then became a beloved grandmother to 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her spirit, values, and her dreams. For several years she even took extra care to help raise some of her grandchildren. To them and so many others Louise was a mentor, guardian, a champion, and friend. Her life inspired her family and friends to lead impactful and resilient lives.

Louise and Evert lived together for over 50 years until Evert's death in June of 2023. They met in 1972 at a holiday party. Louise's friend said that she needed to meet a guy, Evert. When she first saw him, she said she knew instantly that she was going to love him. Louise and Everts love was paramount and unwavering. They were truly each other's soul mates.

They were married in Los Angeles California December 25th, 1985. They lived in Los Angeles until 1995 and then moved to Boulder, Colorado. There they became valuable contributors together in the Book Arts League for many years, and were both well known in their circle of friends as the kind of artists who lived their art. The Papachristou designed house they lived in was itself a work of art and the door was always open for helping others access the creative experience.

Louise held a bachelor's and master's degree from Otis School of Art and Design in Los Angeles. She held an additional Bachelor of Natural Theology in Sacred Healing and was ordained a Minister of Healing by the Healing Light Center Church Seminary. She was recognized several times by the City of Los Angeles for her contributions to her community. Her most notable being the 'Woman of the Year' in 1991 from the State of California Legislature for her outstanding service and dedication.

Louise was a force to be reckoned with. She had a formidable spirit and thirst for knowledge; her resourcefulness was unmatched. She was not only creative with her art, but she was exceptional and ambitious in business. She kept a stunning garden and held a deep love of all things growing. She was an amazing cook and believed that food that could heal the soul. Her life was impactful and influential, and her legacy will live on in every life she touched, every barrier she broke, and every soul she inspired.
