Lymon "L.D." Chase

Jul 27, 1955 — Apr 3, 2016

Lymon D "LD" Chase left his family and friends Sunday April 3, 2016 at the age of 60. He always said he was fortunate to live in two great places having relocated twice while employed by Proctor & Gamble; once in Bellingham, WA and then to Fort Collins, CO in 2000. He lived every day with a passion for life until his health began to deteriorate in 2010.

On November 17, 1979 he married his soulmate and best friend, Joan M Stukenholtz in Emporia, Kansas where they met and went to the University of Emporia. He was survived by his wife, daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, John Hanna of Eaton; son, Jacob Chase and girlfriend, Kateri Theodore of Fort Collins; grandchildren, Logan, Anya and Rinoa; mother, A. Lorraine Chase and sister, Jackie both of Lynden, WA. He was preceded in death by his father and best friend Jack R. Chase of Council Grove, Kansas.

LD was born in Council Grove Kansas July 27, 1955 and will be placed to rest in the family plot at a later date.

LD loved people and life in general, having lost his father at the same age of 60; he understood how precious life was. LD taught us more about honesty, love, strength, weakness, passion and every part of life. He never stopped encouraging everyone around him, especially children; teaching them that they could do anything and everything they wanted and to "go for it". He was a real man who protected, supported, nurtured and uplifted family and friends. If anyone needed help, a repair, or just advice, he was always there to assist or just do it. He was considered a friend, mentor, father to more people than we can mention. He loved living in the northwest, boating and crabbing in the San Juan Islands. He loved the water, sun, golf, hunting, hiking, music, plants, reading and was a true leader in life. Mostly he adored his wife, spending time with his children and grandchildren, pets, grand-pets and his back yard. He spent many hours in his back yard in his later years.

Special thanks to the many surgeons and medical professionals who kept him alive these last 5 years, with special thanks to Dr. Hans Coester, who LD always said, "saved his life".

Celebration Of Life will be held, Saturday, April 30th at "L.D.'s" House. Open House starts at 1:00 PM, with the Sharing of Memories beginning at 2:00 PM.
