Lynda Lee Dickson was born September 1953 at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. She went home to her Savior on November 4, 2016. She is proceeded in death by her parents, James J. & Mary Ellen (Nierman) and oldest brother Theodore. She is survived by her sister, Jean (Chuck) West; brother, Jay (Sue) Dickson, and many close extended family members.
Lynda inherited a love for travel early on from her dad who served in the Air Force. Growing up in a military family she had the opportunity to live in many different states and in Okinawa, Japan.
After graduating from Poudre High School in 1971, she attended Adams State University where she received her Teaching Certificate in 1975. Lynda taught in rural Colorado schools for several years before making a career change and moving to California. In 1995 after the death of her Father, Lynda moved back to Colorado to live with and help care for her mother.
Her love of books and the written word inspired her to make a final career change. In 1995 she began work at the Poudre River Public Library District.
Some of her favorite adventures were trips to England, Alaska and cruises around the world. Her last adventure was to Atlanta for her cousins 60th birthday. It would be the last time the Dickson family would be together with her.
Family was important to Lynda; she was always generous with her time. Whether it was taking her nieces to movies, playing cards with aunts and cousins or just celebrating holidays, she was always there for them. Lynda had many "families" that she treasured, she loved and cared deeply for her friends, co-workers and church members. They made her life worthwhile and fulfilling. She had a great sense of humor and a quick wit, and will be greatly missed by many.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Poudre River Public Library District or Trinity Methodist Church, which she was an active member, serving in many ways.
Celebration of her life will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 801 North Cleveland, Loveland CO on Tuesday November 15th at 10:00 am.
