Mabel Elaine Johnson, age 91, died January 20, 2015 at Spring Creek Health Center, Ft. Collins, Colorado. Inurnment will take place in the cemetery at Casselton, North Dakota followed by a memorial service at the Casselton Heritage Center later this year.

Mabel Elaine (Storm) Johnson was born on July 29, 1923 in Casselton, North Dakota to Howard and Mary (King) Storm. She preferred to use her middle name, Elaine.

Elaine married Ralph Clarence Johnson, at Detroit Lakes, Minnesota on August 25, 1940.
They farmed in North Dakota at Davenport and Casselton. Elaine was the director of Food Services of Central Cass Schools in Casselton and served as president of the North Dakota School Food Service Association. Elaine's hospitality, excellent food and cake decorating were enjoyed by many. She was an active member of Mennonite Church congregations in Casselton and in Fargo-Moorhead. She was a Sunday school teacher, elder on the congregation's leadership team and active in Women's Fellowship circles. As a strong supporter of Mennonite Central Committee she worked at the annual Upper Midwest MCC Relief Sale. She also represented the North Central Conference on the MCC Central States board. Elaine moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado in 2004 and joined the Ft. Collins Good Samaritan Community Church.

Her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. She is survived by one sister, Barbara Bullington of Mobile, AL; one daughter, Norma J. Johnson (Vern Preheim) of North Newton, KS; four sons, Roger M. Johnson of Berkely, MI; Eugene L. Johnson (Barbara) of Fort Collins, CO; Ralph C. Johnson (Carlos Cobos) of Denver, CO, Timothy J. Johnson (Stacie McMullen) of Denver, CO; six grandchildren, Chad Johnson (Lynn), of Royal Oak, MI; Jeannine Johnson (Margaret Schoettler) of Minneapolis, MN; Chris (Helen) Holmquist-Johnson, of Ft. Collins, CO; Brett Johnson (Adelina LeDoux) of Wellington, CO; Amanda and Erin Johnson of Denver, CO; two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Sophie Johnson of Royal Oak, MI; five step great-grandchildren Alexandra Fournier and Audrey Cardinali of Royal Oak, MI; Trey, Zyier and Aniellio of Wellington CO. Also surviving is Grace Johnson (Dean Schantz), youngest sister of Elaine's husband, who lived with the family for nine years.
