Mable Galyan

Jan 5, 1906 — Feb 24, 2011

Mable Lewis Galyan was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1905/1906? to Samuel Edward and Keturah Mariah Lewis. In the early 1960's she, her husband James Siverling and daughter Ann moved to Boulder, CO. Not long after, Mable took a room over what is now the Ace Hardware building in Old Town Fort Collins while attending Nursing School in Greeley. She began her 35+ year career as an LPN at Poudre Valley Hospital and purchased a home on Loomis Street. Over the years she was a landlord to many CSU students who rented her basement apartment. While she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, wood-working, rock-hunting, her favorite hobby was gardening with her companion Schnauzers (Charlie I and Charlie II) by her side. She was fabulous at it - her yard and flowers were always immaculate and she enjoyed gardening well into her 90's. Most recently, Mable was a resident at Lemay Avenue Health and Rehab Facility where she was cared for with the utmost respect and kindness. At the remarkable age of 105/106?, one of Fort Collins' oldest residents, Mable went home to be with Our Lord Jesus on Thursday February 24th, 2011.
