Marcia A. Smith

Marcia A. Smith, age 89 of Fort Collins, Colorado died January 23, 2019. Cremation is planned and private services will be held. Interment will be held later in Roselawn Cemetery, Fort Collins.

Marcia Parteli was born in Denver to Bart and Winona Parteli. She married Lawrence Smith on December 19, 1947 in the Chapel of the Chimes in Piedmont, CA. They lived formerly in San Lorenzo, CA prior to moving to Boulder County Colorado and then to Fort Collins in 1991. She worked as a Dental Assistant in Boulder and later, due to her love of caring for others, worked for Assisted Living Facilities. She also volunteered as a teacher's aide and as a lunch room aide.

Marcia was an accomplished artist, making and painting dolls as well as painting on canvas and sketching. She and Larry enjoyed traveling and did so worldwide. She and Lawrence were longtime members with the Aspen Club.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Lawrence; son, Ray (and Julie) Smith of Pacific City, OR; daughter, Roxana (and Gordon) Phelps of Walsenburg, CO; and son, Robin (and Vicki) Smith of Loveland, CO. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Lindsay Bellus, Ryan Phelps, Lauren Levy, Robyn Phelps, Rachel Simpson, Britni Smith and Bart Smith; and 10 great-grandchildren. Marcia was preceded in death by her sister, Gloria Ridley.
